My favorite eye brow products!

Hi everyone! Brows have become very popular these days. It’s one of the only things we look at. It’s everywhere! Brands are launching numerous different products, just for brows! There’s so many to chose from, gels, powders, pencils, etc. it can be very overwhelming trying to find the right one. Not to mention that there are tinted gels, clear gels, primers, you start to wonder if you really need all of this.

My Go-To Brow Products!

When I first started using brow products I was using a really creamy pencil from the brand we used in school. We got a set of eyeliners that we also used as brow pencils. I really liked it but it wasn’t as precise as I wanted it to be so I upgraded to the Brow Wiz from Anastasia. I really loved this but soon realized it just wasn’t as precise either. I then switched over to the Dip Brow Pomade by Anastasia as well. Now this I love! If comes in a gel pot and you use a brow brush to apply it. The only thing is that it can be very bold looking but it’s very precise with the right brush.

What I love about the pomade is that it lasts a really long time and you don’t need a lot of product. This product also keeps my brows in place and they last all day and night. I think this is the perfect product for anyone who has none to very little hair or have some sparse areas that need filling in. I’ve only bought this product once and it’s lasted me almost a year. I still have so much product in there as well. I have the shade Granite which is perfect for girls with dark brows because there is ash in this shade so it helps it not look like you drew on your brows with a sharpie!

Now that my eyebrow hairs have been growing more and my sparse areas have become less sparse I’ve been using a pencil from ColourPop. I absolutely love it! It’s very precise and natural looking. It goes on so smoothly. Best part, it’s $6 bucks.

I’ve never tried any powder products, but from an experience my friend had, I’m not a fan. She has a lot of natural hair already so I think the powder was just sitting on top of her hairs as oppose to touching her skin. So her brows looked very bulky, if that makes sense. Although I’ve never tried a powder brow product, I have tried to highlight underneath my brows with a powder highlighter and found that the powder made my brows look dusty? You can visibly see the powder just sitting on top of my brow hairs. I believe this is because I have so many natural eye brow hairs like my friend did.

Brow Pencil from ColourPop in Jet Set Black

The one clear gel I tried to help keep some hairs in place worked as far as keeping my hair in place but it effected the way my brow products applied and I didn’t like it. It could of just been that one brand, I’m not to sure. I also used a wax pencil from NYX that worked really well as far keeping my hairs in place, but it pulled some of my hairs out which is the last thing I need when I’m trying to grow out my hairs. I don’t exactly need any product like this so I’ve decided to just cut it out of my beauty routine.

So all in all I haven’t tried very many products when it comes to actually doing my brows. My top two favorites and recommendations would be the Dipbrow from Anastasia and the pencil from ColourPop. They have never failed me! If you’re looking for precision and long lasting I would highly suggest these two products!! Thank you for reading guys!

Forgive me guys…

There will be no post on beauty tonight. We had a very scary and traumatic day yesterday. Our little 1 year old dog, Clyde, had a severe allergic reaction to one of the vaccinations he received yesterday and almost lost his life. He had to stay over night at the vet but he’s home today and back to normal. I’ve been doing nothing but laundry and snuggling my little family. I’m so grateful he is a fighter and back to normal. Thank you for understanding everyone! I have a draft written up but I just wasn’t into it and I’m not going to share something with you guys I don’t 100% back up. My mind just isn’t in the right place to be writing tonight. So I’ll work on it this next week and have it ready for next Thursday. Thank you so much for understanding ☺️ Give your dogs (and loved ones) extra kisses tonight.

Tamanu Oil: miracle in a bottle

Hello everyone! Today we’re going to talk about Tamanu oil! Tamanu oil comes from the but kernels of the Tamanu Nut Tree. It is a thicker carrier oil and can be used for many things! These things including: acne, hair, skin, face, wrinkled, eczema, dry skin, and many many other things. The reason I decided to try this was because my friend told me it would help with hyper pigmentation.

She told me she used it as a moisturizer and it cleared up her acne scars and left her face super moisturized. Within the last year or so I started getting really random bumps on my stomach. Little red bumps that didn’t hurt or itch. I don’t believe it was acne cause there was nothing to pop and they would go away within a day or two but then it would leave a really dark mark that looked like I picked at it the whole time it was there. There was a point where my stomach was covered in dark marks. It was very frustrating and made me self conscious. This went on for months and to this day I don’t know what caused it.
So when my friend told me that this oil helped her get rid of her acne scars over night I ran to whole foods that same day and bought a bottle. Thankfully it was only 7 or 8 bucks, so it’s also inexpensive for a decent size bottle which is always a plus in my book. I started using the oil every night. I would pump a small amount and dab it onto my stomach where I had pigmentation. It didn’t work over night like it did for my friends face. But it did certainly help get rid of the dark spots within a few consistent uses. It stopped on its own (thank god) randomly and I’m so glad it did.

So after that I stopped using it and it sat in my drug cabinet for awhile. But then I was extracting my nose and I focused way too hard on a certain spot and woke up with a little dark mark on my nose. It even showed a little through my BB Cream. So then I decided it was time to bust out my Tamanu Oil again. I figured why not! So I dipped a Q-Tip into the bottle (the pump doesn’t allow me to pump a small amount) and dabbed it over my nose in the problem area and went to sleep. I did this as the last step in my skin care routine. Woke up the next morning and it was GONE! I couldn’t believe it.
While I was in school I had picked the same spot on my nose and caused a dark mark and I actually picked it so hard I had a small scab on my nose. It eventually got lighter and lighter with time and peels but it was so frustrating to see everyday. Ever since then I’ve been able to see the smallest little mark. I doubt anyone else would be able to see it but I saw it and it bothered me…you are your worst critic right? Because it was so small I never thought to try it on my face because other than that I had no acne scars or dark marks on my skin. I am really glad I thought to use it this time though because it was literally gone over night!

I’m not sure why it took longer to see results on my stomach as oppose to my face but I’m not complaining! Either way, they both worked for me. Something so magical like this should be shared to the world! So, you’re welcome ;).

I highly recommend this oil to anyone that has any type of scaring on their skin. Now I only bought it for that reason, so I can’t say that it works for everything else cause I haven’t tried it. But all the other uses sound so amazing! I’m not to crazy about the smell though, it’s not bad smelling but it’s not good smelling to me either. It’s also a very strong scent in my opinion. Other than the scent I have no complaints about this amazing oil! I’ll deal with a bad scent to keep my skin healthy!!

Another plus, the oil has a natural UV protection!! Tamanu Oil is highly beneficial as an antioxidant, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory. Unlike other oils you don’t have to worry about diluting it or burning your skin. You can just apply it directly onto your skin! I’m truly amazed by this oil and its benefits.
I wish I had before and after pictures to show you guys but I wasn’t even thinking of writing about this oil till an hour ago in the shower lol. I hope you find this post is helpful to your skin needs!! Thanks for reading!

Eye Cream and Eye Masks!!

Hi everyone!! I’m really sorry I didn’t post last week, I got sick and didn’t think staring into a computer screen was going to help! But I’m back! 🙂

So let’s talk about your eyes, more specifically: your under eyes and skin around your eyes. We’ve all seen eye cream being advertised all over, right? I’m sure most of you have seen eye masks as well. If you haven’t, eye masks are a real thing and I love them!

It’s so important to take care of the skin around your eyes, just like it is so important to take care of the skin on your face (and all over really). The skin around your eyes is very delicate and very thin…much thinner than the skin on the rest of your face. That’s why you can see the “bags under your eyes” so predominantly. The skin around your eyes are more likely to show premature signs of aging if it’s neglected.

Taking care of your under eyes makes it that much easier to cover up!

Many people think “oh eye cream? I don’t need that till I’m older with wrinkles”. Wrong. It can be so expensive, you wonder if it’s really necessary or if the beauty industry is just trying to make money. You’re never too young to start using eye cream and it was completely worth it to invest in some good eye cream and start early. I thought all this before I started esthetic school. We got half off on the products that were for sale at school so I went ahead and tried the eye cream because dark eyes and puffy eyes are something I’ve always battled with. I bought an eye cream and I fell in love!!! It really worked! There were mornings I’d get up thinking to myself how awful my bags were going to be…only to find that they were in pretty good shape! Ever since then, I’ve been using eye cream religiously, twice a day, everyday!

Eye cream is one of those products that are totally worth it because it simply works. Its also great because you only need such a small amount (less than a pea size amount for both eyes) each use so it lasts you a long time! Worth the pretty penny for this beauty product. When you apply eye cream you’ll want to apply it (with your ring finger) underneath your eyes, corners of eyes, and on the brow bone. Here’s a tip, use your ring finger to apply your eye cream or blend out concealer on your under eyes. Your ring finger gives off the least amount of pressure which is perfect for such a sensitive area.
You can find so many variations of prices and brands. You can also find many different types of eye creams/gels that help with something in specific on top of just helping that area stay youthful. There’s brightening, ones with SPF, age reversing, soothing, etc. I am currently using a brightening one to help with my dark circles but would love to get one with SPF in it after this tube runs out.

Even Pebbles likes eye masks! 🙂

On top of using eye cream, I also use eye masks frequently. I’ve only ever seen them at Sephora and Ulta but I love them! Your face masks help your overall skin, but they don’t help your under eyes. I buy single use ones from Sephora. It’s from their line of skin care and I talked about them in my previous post: How to find out whats really in your products! These are $5 each and there so many different ones you can choose from to help with your specific need. They also have the same type of mask but in a all over face sheet mask as well.  These masks also have such good ingredients as well, it’s hard not to love them.

My personal favorite to buy is Pomegranate eye mask: anti-fatigue and energizing. I feel like I’m constantly fatigued and looking like it, I actually used this eye mask this morning when I was exhausted and it really helped me feel better and got me to get my day started. I have so many other ones but haven’t tried yet like, Pearl for brightening, Lingzhi for anti-aging and smoothing, and Honey for nourishing and balancing. There are many more than the ones I just named off at Sephora. I have bought one from Ulta, but I have not tried it yet. They are so easy to use: you apply them, remove them, throw away, and gently massage in any left over residue from the mask. I promise you’ll feel refreshed!

I hope after reading this you guys go out and buy some eye cream!! Don’t just buy any one though, do your research and read the ingredients! 😉 you’ll fall in love the results and wonder why you never used this product before. There’s also so many at home masks and treatments you can do if you don’t want to buy one of these. But again, do your research!! Thanks for reading guys!
