My updated Skin Care routine AM and PM

Hello everyone! Sorry it’s been awhile since I’ve posted… I promise I’m trying to be better!! But it’s been awhile since I’ve done a post about my skin care routine itself. Actually it’s been a little over a year. You can find it here. So some of it has changed, some hasn’t! Most of it has changed lol. I love and hate trying new skin care products because any small thing can make your breakout and you’ll have no idea what ingredient it was. Since I’ve broken out from a few things I’m always super scared to try new skin stuff. I always read the reviews on them from their site and other sources. For example I order most my stuff from Sephora so I go through all the reviews and look for the bad reviews to see why. I’m here today to share my updated routine!

So now my skin care routine is much longer and involves many more products than before but it’s all worth it.

  1. Wash my face with Flash Foam Cleanser –> Bioelements
  2. Spray my entire face with Facial Spray –> Mario Badescu in Rose Water or Green Tea
  3. Eye cream 5 in 1 Eye Cream –> First Aid Beauty
  4. I take a cotton round and soak it with Glow Tonic –> Pixi by Petra
  5. Apply my spot acne treatment wherever I have blemishes, Quick Refiner –> Bioelements
  6. Buffet Serum –> The Ordinary and Water Bright Illuminating Serum –> H2O Plus
  7. Another spot acne treatment if needed, Advanced Retinoid 2% –> The Ordinary
  8. Then finally moisturize with Coconut Milk Facial Lotion –> Promise Organic with 1-2 drops of Rose Gold Elixir –> Farsáli

Now the PM is pretty much the same except I do a few other things. One of them being that I obviously take off my makeup.

-I use Micellar Water from Garnier to take off my makeup  before cleansing. I typically end up using two large cotton rounds to get it all off.
-I also add one other wipe also from First Aid Beauty, Facial Radiance Pads. I do this before step 4.
-I add in an extra serum or 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil. The other serum my best friend made for me and it’s heavenly, it has great oils and other things that are benefit the skin. I love these two products so much because I know all the ingredients in it. It’s just so simple. I do this after the other two serums, step 6.

So I know this is a lot and it all seems crazy! But my skin is tough and not sensitive so I can handle a lot of these stronger items with no issues. If you’re more sensitive, you shouldn’t use some of these as frequently as I do! Always do your research and start slow with the stronger stuff. Use it once a week, then build it up if you want when it comes to using retinoids and exfoliaters.

I have a few other things that I use every once in awhile or when I have a massive random pimple. The Mario Badescu Drying Lotion is a great example! I use it anytime I get even just one pimple and it helps tremendously.

So if you read my last post about my skin care routine you’ll notice I still use the same cleanser, spot treatment, and moisturizer. These have my staple go tos. They never let me down. I haven’t changed much, I’ve more so added more things to it. All these extra things I do help keep my skin healthy not just on the outside but deep down, under the surface as well.

Skin care is so important and is becoming more popular thank god! If you have any questions please feel free to ask! Before trying anything new I always recommend reading the reviews and following all the instructions. They are there for a reason.

Thank you for reading!!!

BECCA X Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette — My honest review!

Hey everyone! I’m so excited to share this with you. I love BECCA and Chrissy is hilarious and amazing. Not to mention so beautiful! I was so eager for this to come out because I truly love BECCA highlighters. I also love that this collab was with someone who is close to my skin tone. It seems in every collaboration palette there’s one or two shades I can’t use because it’s either too dark or too light for me. Even with almost all of them claiming that each shade is for all skin tones. Chrissy is also half Thai and I’m Thai sooo obviously I need this. 💁 So I thought for sure this palette would work for me and that I could use every shade.

FullSizeRender (22)I love the Chrissy palette so much I went and ordered another one and actually left a review on Sephora’s app about it. I normally don’t ever leave reviews. But I felt I had to because of how amazing this palette truly is. I do wish the bronzer pan was a little bigger but I can do without.

I ordered it Thursday when it first released on the Sephora app and it shipped the same day. How amazing is that?! I got it the next Wednesday. Just looking at it I was so obsessed with the packaging. The shades all looked so beautiful I didn’t even want to swatch them. But obviously I did.
The pigment payout was amazing! I’ve been looking for a new bronzer to use to contour my cheeks because I’m almost out of the stuff I currently use. I was looking for something warm and glowy without being orange. Well ladies and gents, the bronzer in this palette is it. Sunlit bronzer in Malibu Soleil is spectacular. It has some shimmer in it but it doesn’t come out like big glitter on your skin and it looks so perfect. The blush, Hibiscus Bloom is a very pinky-coral in my opinion. I literally only needed one swipe for each side. The bronzer and blush are both very build-able which i love. It makes this face palette very versatile. Both the highlights, Rose Gold and Beach Nectar are both so pretty and summery. It’s BEAUTIFUL. I think these shades compliment my skin tone so well and I think they would truly compliment any skin tone. I’ve been using this palette every single day. I haven’t even touched my other highlights or contours/bronzers. When I use this palette I look like I have a natural glow and I always look really dewy which is a game changer because I’m oily as can be.

So at the end of the day (or this blog post) I would recommend the Chrissy palette 100%. It is my favorite face palette and I’m obsessed.

Thank you all so much for reading!

The holy grail of spot treatments!

Hello everyone! Hope you guys had a great Easter weekend! Today I wanna talk to you guys about a perfect spot treatment. Mario Badescu has this little bottle that has what looks like pink powder on the bottom and some clear liquid above it. This little bottle cost $17 dollars which is super affordable and long lasting seeing as how you wouldn’t use it daily or a lot of it when you do use it.
So what is a drying lotion? Cause to be honest when I first saw this I was like… lotion is suppose to moisturize? But this is drying? What??? I never did anymore research on it but I just knew I wanted to try it whatever it was lol. I love Mario Badescu and all their products that I’ve tried so far so I was even more tempted to try it.
Drying lotion is a fast acting spot acne treatment. Spot treatment means you apply the product to that one pimple or a couple little pimples, not your whole face.
This product contains salicylic acid and calamine. To read more on salicylic acid, click on this: Benzoyl Peroxide VS. Salicylic Acid. Here is there entire ingredient list:
Calamine is meant to calm the skin. Sulfur is also great for acne. It smells like complete shit, but it works so well I just deal with the smell. This drying lotion certainly has a slight sulfur smell but it’s not overpowering. It’s almost like a minty sulfur smell? Anyways, resorcinol helps disinfect the skin and helps fight infection. This product has great ingredients and it truly works.

I went to Ulta and they have this little “travel kit” including their rose facial spray (which is life) and this drying lotion for $22 bucks. The facial spray is a smaller size but the drying lotion is the actual size. So not too bad of a deal, decided to get it. All you have to do is stick a q-tip into the very bottom (DO NOT SHAKE) in the pink stuff and dab that little bit onto your acne. Don’t double dip your q-tip. Just use the other end if you need more. But honestly, you get so much off one little dab, you should be fine. You’re supposed to sleep in it over night but sometimes I just use it during the day before I have to go out or do anything involving seeing other people.

This seriously works so quickly. My pimples have literally gone down in size and redness within just hours. I’m currently dealing with a nodule on my cheek, acne nodules are large and hard painful bumps under the skin. You know those deep down pimples that hurt without touching them and they’re so big? Well I got one last Sunday and it came out of nowhere. I used this drying lotion almost every night from Sunday-Wednesday and it went down in size significantly each night. Now it’s been an official week and it’s still there (annoying) but almost gone. I wish I would of taken a picture of it before when it first popped up :/. It’s now the size of a normal pimple and doesn’t hurt. Then on the following Sunday I got another one, not as big or painful but still big and painful. I used the drying lotion once that Sunday night and it went down immediately. It’s so small now and just my normal foundation covers it up. I do have pictures of this one for you guys to see the difference (I think I’m getting all these small breakouts because I just switched birth control for the 1000th time and I think my body is just trying to get used to all the hormones)

This is the perfect spot treatment. Idk anything else that will shrink my pimples within hours. I highly recommend this product to everyone! It says it’s meant for all skin types which is great too. It’s very gentle, I don’t feel like anything is on my face when I’m wearing it. I often forget it’s on. I remember I had a random massive pimple on my forehead, I threw some of this stuff on and threw a hat on, went out and ran some errands, within 2 hours it was almost gone. I feel like something like this can’t exist but I promise you it does and it’s real. Idk what kind of magic is in this but it’s perfect and I’m obsessed. The first picture below is from this past sunday, then same day but after an hour with the drying lotion on, then monday, and the final picture was last night on wednesday. You can see the huge difference from the first and final picture.

Everybody go try this little magical thing! And as always, thank you for reading!

The Makeup Eraser

Hi guys! I hope your week is going good so far! Today I wanted to talk about The Makeup Eraser. The first time I saw it, I was at the Beauty Show in Chicago a few years ago while I was in Esthetic school. I was super intrigued but being in school for skin, I wondered how this could be sanitary? This pink cloth claims to remove ALL your makeup with just warm water — no chemicals or anything. It says you can reuse it hundreds of times before needing to replace it. So for about 3 years I’ve seen it at Sephora every single time I go in, wondered if I should get it, grab it, look at it, then put it back. I always put it back because HOW?? How can just a piece of cloth take off all my makeup?

FullSizeRender (20)

I typically use wipes or micellar water then wash my face with cleanser. Sometimes twice if I feel like my makeup isn’t completely off. But I am extremelyyyy lazy so if this will skip a step or two, then it’s worth a try.

The founder, Lexi McCarthy found me on Instagram and added me. I read her bio and saw “Founder of Makeup Eraser” I was shocked! What’s the founder of something like this doing following me?! Long story short, I reached out to her about her product and she was so incredibly nice and answered all my questions. She told me that it is anti-bacterial and that she uses it for about a week before having to wash it. She also told me that she uses it in portions. So she’ll wet a corner or so and use that part to take off her makeup as oppose to wetting the whole thing and using the whole thing at once. I thought that was a neat tip because that would certainly help with the you get more uses out of it before having to wash it.

Lexi also mentioned how it’s so much better for your skin than a normal wash rag. Which is what I use to wash my face. I use it every day and night and typically replace it after 2-3 days. The Makeup Eraser is woven with fibers so, that and the material it is made of is what helps remove makeup. It is made of 100% polyester.

During our conversation, she was so kind as to offer to send me one for me to try out! I was sooo excited to receive this and try it. I opened the box up and inside was a personalized note, The Makeup Eraser, and their own silicone sponge! I had no idea I was getting the sponge as well so I was even more excited because if you guys follow me, I just wrote about my love for the silicone sponge. I also love personalized notes, so already, I’m in love with the packaging and how sweet Lexi is. There are so many great products out there that unfortunately do not have great people representing their products. Lexi is the complete opposite and I’m so glad!

So now, the review! Like I said, the packaging was simple and cute. It’s pink. I love anything pink. It does come in different colors though. I might just go pick one up in black as well. So I finally had makeup on and so eager to try this. I started by wetting it with warm water then just rubbed it in circular motions all over my face, like I would a makeup remover wipe. Sure enough, it took off my makeup!! I was so shocked at how well this worked. Its sooo soft and felt so nice on my face. So nice that now when I do use my normal wash rags it feels so harsh compared to the Makeup Eraser.

image1 (5)

So after I finished my whole face I did a little test and put some micellar on a cotton pad and rubbed that all over my face. I did that to see if my makeup was really off or if it just seemed off. I know that one makeup wipe doesn’t take off your makeup completely. Guess what?!? My makeup was gone! There was some brown on my cotton pad but I’m 99% sure that’s just dirt on my face because it wasn’t the same brown my foundation is. If any of you use those exfoliating wipes you know what I’m talking about.

So all and all I love this! I’ve used it 4 times this week but I always washed my face after. I’ll probably toss it into the wash after one more use. I have it hanging on my towel rack next to my shower and I think it’s perfect for the shower. So many times I’m in the shower and wishing I would’ve grabbed my wash rag so I can at least remove most my makeup with some water in the shower. Although it did take off all my makeup, I will always still cleanse after because as you can see from my photo, it took off my makeup but didn’t completely clean my skin. Sometimes I wear so much makeup and I really need a deep pore cleanse which my cleanser gives me.

Do I think it’s worth it? Yes! I think you’ll all love this little face towel. It’s so soft and just feels so amazing on your skin. Thank you so much again Lexi for being so generous and sending this to me! Thank you all for reading!!

Farsali Rose Gold Elixir

Hi all! So I’m sure you’ve all seen the Rose Gold Elixir all over Instagram? I first saw it on @iluvsarahii page and then slowly but surely I started seeing other makeup artists that I follow using it. Shout out to Karen though cause I would of never of tried this product without watching all her mini videos on Instagram and she’s honestly so perfect. I thought “okay, this must be good if everyone is using it?” It’s not like people were just using it for one purpose, people were using it for their lips, mixing it with their foundation, or just using it alone. After doing some research and contemplating for a few months if I should get it or not, I finally caved and got it.

Let me just say HOLY SHIT GO AND BUY IT RIGHT NOW! Sorry for the swear words, but it’s just who I am. And this product is worthy of it. So when I decided I wanted to buy it and try it they were sold out. So I put my email down on a list for them to email when it came back into stock. I got an email a few weeks later and it said they had the product but not the box it comes in. So they were offering 10% off to anyone who bought it without the box. UHM HELLO. I don’t need a box? I’ll just throw it out anyways so I went ahead and ordered it without the box. I remember I was at work on a quick phone break and I got the email, ran to the break room and grabbed my credit card to pay right away.

I received it and was so excited to try it. Before I continue with what I use it for let me start by saying I have combo skin. I’m more oily then dry and not particularly dry. My skin is also tough and can handle a lot. So I’ve tried this little bottle of perfection mixed with my foundation, alone, mixed with my moisturizer, and on my lips. So because I’m not dry mixing it with my foundation left me feeling greasy. Using it alone works really well for me once in awhile and I don’t wake up with the oil sitting on top of my face. Sometimes I wake up and the oil doesn’t absorb into my skin like a normal moisturizer would. It also works well alone when I’m out of my moisturizer and don’t want to spend the money just yet on replacing or making the trip to go get it lol. I used it on my lips and it just kind of sat on top of my lips. It doesn’t really absorb the way my other chapsticks do. I feel the same about coconut oil on my lips. I also used it to rehydrate my dip brow. It worked really well but I accidentally put too many drops in so my dip brow became too wet :/

So I tried to mix it with my moisturizer and omg that was it. It works soon well with my moisturizer. I put a pea size of my moisturizer in my hand (clean and dry of course) and then ONE drop of the Rose Gold Elixir right in the middle of the moisturizer. Then I rub it in-between my hands and massage it into my face and neck. Don’t forget your neck guys! It gives me just a little more hydration which is all my skin needs. It also gives me a nice dewy look that I love. Because I use just one drop each time so two drops a day, this little bottle lasts me forever! I just bought my second bottle and I’m not even completely out of my first bottle yet. I just like to stock up on products when I know I’m running low. Literally two drops is all I need. I think someone with dry skin could really benefit from adding this into their skin care routine. I think everyone actually would benefit from this lol.

The smell is light and refreshing. Which is another plus for me, I hate strong smelling products because I get such a headache from it. The packaging is also super simple and adorable; I’m a sucker for anything white and gold. There are little gold flakes which just gives such a glam feel to it.  Another plus is that Sephora just started selling this on their website as well. So now you can order from two different sites. I truly love this product.
If you’re wondering what’s in this and what makes it so good, I’ll tell you!
-Rosehip Seed Oil: corrects UV damage from the sun and treats fine lines and wrinkles
-Pumpkin Seed Oil: retains moisture and fights free radicals
-24k Gold: dark spots on the skin can be reduced and can help improve skin circulation
-Vitamin E: supports new skin cell growth and speeds up cell regeneration
-Lemongrass Oil: an antiseptic and astringent  that can serve as a natural toner

-Orange Peel Oil: has vitamin C which helps add a glow to your skin

I’m always so nervous to try new products because I never know how my skin is going to react and there’s so many different companies that offer something that claims to do this and that but doesn’t actually work. Always do your research! After doing my research, it was clear this wouldn’t be a regret. I’m so glad I decided to try this. I hope you guys do to!

Silicone Sponge is the real deal!!

Hello everyone! I’ve been serioussssllly slacking, I know! :l But I just needed to talk about this silicone sponge.
IMG_5026I’m sure you’ve all been seeing it all over social media! When I first saw it I was pretty skeptical. I mean it looks just like those chicken cutlet sticky bras lol. It also reminded me of breast implants? Anyways, I read how it was more sanitary, easier to clean, and took up less makeup. But there’s no way a product like that exists, right?? WRONG. Let me tell you!! This sponge is amazing! I ordered a two pack from off Groupon for 8 bucks and gave one to my best friend to try. I’m in love! I haven’t used it to apply my all over foundation yet and I probably won’t because I don’t use my BB to apply my foundation as is… I use a brush. But I do use my BB to blend out my concealer.
So normally I make three small stripes with my concealer under my eyes. Even before that I take a lot of concealer off the wand because soo much product comes out of the tube onto the wand and a little goes a long way. So I do three stripes then blend it out with a wet BB. Well now I do ONE teeny tiny stripe and use my silicone sponge. No wetting it or anything, just the sponge. The sponge works so amazingly, it doesn’t absorb any makeup at all. This sponge blends out my concealer so wonderfully. It is also 100x easier and quicker to clean than a BB.
Unfortunately the sponge shape isn’t ideal for my inner eyes. So I just use my ring finger and tap it out. I do have one with a pointed tip and it helps a little but still doesn’t blend out the inner corner like I want it to. I still spray my BB with water and use that to apply setting powder so really the silicone sponge is an extra step. But for much less makeup I’m using while getting the same results if not better, I don’t care! Plus I’m saving money by using less makeup, which is a HUGE bonus. I’m telling you guys, buy it! It’s super inexpensive and works so well. You’ll thank me.

Thanks for reading!!

My Favorite Beauty Tips and Tricks!

Hey everyone!!! I know it’s been a realllly long time since I’ve posted but I’m back! I hope you guys had wonderful holiday seasons!!! Today I want to talk about my go-to beauty tips and tricks. These are things I do every day to help maintain good makeup that lasts all day.

1. Dampening my BB sponge
• Having your sponge slightly damp (you don’t want it too wet) just helps apply your liquid makeup so much easier and smoother in my opinion. You can use water or your favorite setting spray or even a facial spray. Whatever you prefer! I use water because I just personally get a better finish with water than anything else. Plus my facial spray is expensive and water is free (sorta). I kept an old setting spray bottle, cleaned it out, and put water in there. I now keep that on my vanity with my sponges so I can just easily spray, wet, and dab right onto my skin. I’m way to lazy to get up and take the 10 steps to my sink so I filled up the bottle instead, lol.
• This also really works well with liquid highlighters. The sponge is always still damp enough to help blend in that liquid highlight and give it a perfect finish.
• I also will use my damp sponge to dip into my setting powder and pat onto my undereye area. Then I gently buff it out with the same sponge. I know using something wet with powder sounds weird but trust me. This works. Idk why, it just does!
Speaking of setting powder…
2. No baking with setting powder
• I know baking was super popular and still is with makeup routines. I only ever did it on my undereyes. I would conceal, bake, brows, brush away the bake. I was starting to notice my undereyes would look a little dry. It never felt dry and never really was dry. But having that much powder sit on such a delicate area for that long made it appear dry. So I stopped “baking”. I now only apply the powder under both eyes and then lightly dab the extra away with my beauty blender right after.
• I also don’t use a lot of powder at all. I just do a light coat. For me that’s just enough to set my concealer. I no longer look dry which is a win.

3. I don’t put setting powder anywhere except my undereyes.
• Part of the reason why I don’t put it anywhere else is because when  I did, I put it on my forehead and noticed I would get small pimples a few days later. If I put it on my nose, my nose would look dryer than it is. I’ll use a light dusting of matte powder over my forehead if I’m touching up or feel just extra oily that day before even finishing my makeup. But I try to stay away from it.

4. Mixing two primers together
• I am currently using the Hangover primer from Too Faced with the MakeupForever Smoothing primer. I use one pump of the hangover primer and smaller than a pea size amount of the smoothing primer, rub it together in my hands (not completely because you don’t want it to absorb into your hands) then I apply to my face like any other primer but I focus mainly on my cheeks and nose. That’s where my pores are most noticeable. I mix the two together because I noticed when I used the smoothing primer alone (Benefits and Makeup Forevers) it made little circles around each and every single one of my pores on my nose! The complete opposite of what it’s meant to do?? Idk if it’s just me or what but it was so annoying. I learned mixing it with another primer got rid of the problem.
• When using any brand’s version of a smoothing primer make sure you really blend it out evenly on your skin. I noticed when I would then apply my foundation on afterwards it would leave a weird streaky line on my face where it wasn’t completely blended. Then I would have to spend extra time blending my primer and foundation in.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and I’m so sorry again that I have been MIA lately!

xoxo, Ticha!
